AUTOBARN LOGAN CITY DYNO SHOOTOUT # 2

Autobarn Logan City, Australia’s largest supplier of aftermarket spare parts, accessories, car audio and performance products; and Pioneer, Australia’s best known and most innovative Car Audio company have joined forces to present  2007’s even bigger massive dyno event on July 29th from 10.00am at the store’s huge location at 60 Moss Street, Slacks Creek in Brisbane, QLD.

Event organiser Darlene Greenhill stated that the “Pioneer Dyno Shootout 2007” was going to be a massive event. Two Dyno’s supplied by Pro torque Performance Tuning will once again be the centre piece of an outdoor arena. To make the event even bigger than last year, the event is going to be held in the rear car park with twice the grandstand space. Spectators will get up close and personal with the action  at “event central” with all the action being played out on massive screens indoors and outdoors, including live cameras supplied by SRB Promotions.

Bigger Event Central: Approval has been granted for total street closure outside Event Central giving us heaps more room for vehicle displays, staging and entertainment. Plus, this year there will be four huge grandstands to seat as many spectators as possible. All up, its shaping up to be huge!!

GAS MOTORSPORT 6 SEC CELICA ON ITS WAY TO OZ

It's on the water and due to land in early August! The Gas Motorsport Team of Gary Goodman & Joe Signorelli are eagerly awaiting on their latest purchase, the Ex Titan Motorsports Cooper Celica. This RJ Race Cars built Toyota Celica was the 1st Pro RWD car to run into the 6.40's and won the NHRA Sport Compact Championship in 2005.

The list of equipment is impressive including, Full Carbon Fiber Body and interior, CO2 Parachutes, Weld Alumistars Wheels, Goodyear tyres, Strange front/rear Carbon Brakes, Racepak V300 Data Acquisition, Koni Electric Shocks, Front strut & wheels bar sensors, G-Force Trans, Trick Titanium Can, Strange Axles and much more...

The Celica was purchased less engine but will receive a Gas Motorsport built 2JZ and you can be assured Joe will be aiming for mid 6sec passes once sorted. The Gas Motorsport Team will be working day and night once the vehicle lands in an effort to have the Celica ready for the Castrol EDGE Jamboree of August 25/26.

ANDRA SQ ANNUAL TECH DAY

The ANDRA South Queensland Division will be holding its Annual ‘Tech Day’ on Sunday the 18th of August at Willowbank Raceway.

An ANDRA Tech Inspection is required for any vehicle running quicker than 11.00sec.  Tech Inspections are normally $110 for cars and $74 for Bikes & junior dragsters but on the ‘Tech Day’ they will ONLY BE $22 with Techs being performed from 8am to 12noon.  Tech inspections are available for anyone wishing to get one and for those of you that have already had a Tech, this year odd numbered vehicles are due for inspection.

Also on the same day is the Willowbank Super Swap Meet.  Gates open 6am for traders and buyers.  Trader sites are $10 and includes entry for one person.  Buyer/General admission is $3 each with kids 13 & under free.  Unlimited outdoor sites available on the day.  This could be a great opportunity for you to clear out the shed (or score points with the other half) and get rid off those unwanted parts before the start of the next season on the 1st of September.   On the other hand you might find a bargain at the swap meet that could give you that extra tenth you’ve been chasing!
