SAND GROPERS TRAVEL EAST

Two of Western Australia's best and quickest Sport Compact racers are making the 4,300km plus trip to be a part of the action at the 2007 Castrol EDGE Jamboree.

Contender number 1 is Australia's Quickest Rotary 13B powered vehicle of Brett & Peter Glover. Their full chassis Pro Compact Mazda RX7 Series 6 runs a Maztech tuned twin turbo 13B. With limited track time the PTS Seals team has already taken the number (1) 13B title away from friend and fellow competitor Grant William with a 7.62sec @ 181mph. The 13B twin turbo runs Garret 700R turbo's with a Microtech ECU controlling the fuel & ignition. On the driveline, a G-Force 2000 transmission, Mark Williams diff and Goodyear slicks get the power to the ground. Brett & Peter would like to thank Anthony & Lino of Maztech, SAF Holland, Falcon Specialists, Gossnells Smash Repairs, RT Systems, Penrite Oils, Huntingdale Autos and their crew for their ongoing support. The PTS Seals team will have Gaby from Gabys Chassis in Puerto Rico on hand to help with fine tuning the chassis as the team looks to improve on their 7.62sec ET at the Castrol EDGE Jamboree.

Contender number 2 is the fast talking Murray Kifer and his Street 289 Toyota Corolla. The 13B twin turbo powered Corolla is no slouch either and has run a best of 8.25sec @164mph. A little over 12months ago, Kifer held the top spot in the Street 289 ranks.

The Corolla now runs a Bridgeport 13B with a pair of Garrett GT35R turbos with a Microtech engine management system. Murray is itching to get onto the legendary Willowbank Raceway track and is hoping to move back up in the Street 289 ranks. Murray said to me today " If you see a guy running naked down the track that'll be me after knocking Bill Nabhan of the Top Spot". Murray would like to send a big shootout to Rotamotive for all their help & support.

Kifer wont be the only one with their eyes on the number 1 spot with Damien McKern's RX2 sporting a new ladder bar rear end and the ever present Wayne Dyson being the quiet achiever looming in the background. The Street 289 battle is going to be huge at this years Castrol EDGE Jamboree on August 25/26.

ROTORMASTER/GAS/RACINGJUNK GEARS UP J17

The Rotormaster/Gas Motorport/Racingjunk Team combo have their eyes firmly set no getting back to the top of the McKern & Associates Pro Turbo ranks at the upcoming Castrol EDGE Jamboree. Joe Signorelli will be piloting Po Tung's Series 6 Mazda RX7 this year and as you'll see below are making headway to their goal. In testing last Wednesday (Aug 8) at WSID, the team reeled an of the trailer 7.123sec @194.16mph pass with a 1.15sec 60ft.

On the 2nd pass they broke an accelerator cable and snapped a main counter weight key way in the process. After an all hands on repair by all the boys the car came back for third pass and laid down a 1.07sec 60ft with a 2.90sec 330ft before it blew an intake pipe which called an end to their day. Some would say these numbers equate to a potential 6sec pass. I'm sure we won't be the only ones looking forward to seeing what the Rotormaster/Gas Motorport/Racingjunk Team combo can produce come August 25th-26th.
