SUPER COMPACT GROUP 2 DEBUT AT
FUCHS AUSTRALIAN NATIONALS THIS WEEKEND
This weekend sees the new ANDRA Group 2 Eliminator Super Compact debut at the Fuchs Australian National at WSID. Being a Group 2 Bracket, Super Compact competitors will compete against each other and their individual class index's. To win, competitors still need to be the 1st to the finish line but need to be mindful of their class index. If they run quicker than their class index, the index gets adjusted before the next round making to tougher to win.
An example is the AA/SC Class that Joe Signorellii will run in that has an index of 7.05sec. If Joe wins and runs quicker than his class index, the index gets adjust by half of the difference. Lets say he runs a 6.85sec, the AA/SC Class index gets adjusted 6.95sec. This means he has hurt his class index by 1 sec making to tougher for him and his fellow class competitors to win next time around. Yes it's hard to get your head around and it's not all about being the fastest. I guess the idea is to be just fast enough to win. With the different closing speeds of each class to makes it even harder still to win
The Sport Compact Class (previously know as Pro RWD) see starters including Rodney Rehayem-CC/SC, George Rehayem-BB/SC, Bill Nabhan-BB/SC, Matt Lisle-CC/SC, Tony Wedlock-AA/SC, Johnny Criticos-CC/SC, Joe Signorelli-AA/SC & Ivan Skaramuca-BB/SC battling it out.
In Oz Mod we have Damien McKern-AA/OM, Frank Cannistra-BB/OM, and Dib Taouil-BB/OM. Rounding out the field is Mark Borg-CC/SM in Sports Mod. For more
information on the 2008 Fuchs Australian Nationals check WSID's new website HERE. For a full racing schedule check HERE.
