Series Results - 2006/2007 Sport Compact Group Drag Racing Series

Series Final Report

Coming into the Final Round of the 2006/2007 Sport Compact Group Drag Racing Series, saw 10 of the 11 classes wide open for a number of competitors to claim the crown. All Motor saw a tie for 1st, with the win going to the competitor who lasts the longest in eliminations at the Final Round. McKern & Associates Pro Turbo came down to the final race of the night with Joe Signorelli securing the title by just 5 points over Ivan Skaramuca.

HOW POINTS ARE EARNED IN THE SERIES

 

In order for competitors to be eligible for Series Points and Series Championship Awards they must first become a member of the Series.  Click HERE for membership details.

 

All 5 SCGDRS events count for point with competitors being able to earn points at every event.  The points total for each competitor will be the total accrued at all rounds of the SCGDRS. At the end of the Series the competitor with the most points from each bracket will be entitled to carry the number 1 on their vehicle for the following season.  Competitors may accrue points from one bracket only for the overall championship.

100 points Class Winner
80 points Class Runner Up
60 points Class 3rd in points
40 points Class 4th in points
5 points Class Top Qualifier
10 points Class ET Record (only one can be set per class per event)
10 points Class MPH Record (only one can be set per class per event)
10 points For each competitor that completes at least 2 qualifiers and does not make the 16-car field.

  • Points for Class ET or MPH Record will only be earned if the record is backed up within 1% as per the record setting procedure.
  • In the event of a tie for Championship points in a Heads Up Bracket at the end of the final round of the Series, the title will be awarded to the competitor with the better performance, the better performance will be decided on the basis of best Elapsed Time during the final round of the Series, or best Terminal Speed where the Elapsed Times are the same.
  • In the event of a tie for Championship points in a DYO Bracket at the end of the final round of the Series, the title will be awarded to the competitor who lasts the longest in eliminations.  In the event of both competitors being eliminated in the same round of racing the title will go to the competitor closest to their dial-in from that round of racing.
  • Where any round of the SCGDRS is abandoned for whatever reason at any point after qualifying has been completed, the minimum potential points will be awarded to each competitor at affected round.  Class ET or MPH Record points will still be awarded if applicable.
